The AQUA-K9 combines Acoustic Detection and Tracer Gas Detection in one professional field system. The AQUA-K9 is suitable for indoor, outdoor, shallow, deep-buried, and tracer gas leak detection.

This kit includes a range of specialist sensors, each designed for a different environment. From indoor floors and confined areas to outdoor surfaces, buried pipelines, and more difficult jobs requiring tracer gas, the AQUA-K9 gives the operator the flexibility to adapt to the conditions on site.

Leak sounds and sensor feedback are processed by the Control Unit and displayed on the screen in real time through waveform analysis and numerical values. At the same time, sound is transmitted to the headphones, allowing the operator to both hear and analyse the signal while comparing test points. This helps reduce guesswork, improves pinpointing accuracy, and minimises unnecessary digging.

For more difficult jobs where acoustic conditions may not be ideal, the AQUA-K9 also includes tracer gas detection capability, allowing escaping gas concentrations to be detected and used to further narrow down the leak location.

Product Principle

The AQUA-K9 works by detecting the vibration and sound created when pressurised water escapes from a pipe. Using a range of specialist acoustic sensors, the unit captures leak signals through floors, walls, outdoor surfaces, soil, and other environments where a leak may be present.

These signals are then processed by the Control Unit, where they are shown visually through live waveforms and numerical values while also being transmitted to the headphones. This gives the operator both an audible and visual way to compare signal strength and identify the most likely leak location.

As the sensor moves closer to the leak, the signal generally becomes clearer and stronger, helping the operator narrow down the burst location more efficiently.

For more challenging jobs, the AQUA-K9 also features a Gas Sensor, which can detect escaping gas at the surface and provide an additional method of locating the leak when acoustic conditions are less favourable.

This combination of multiple sensor options and real-time signal analysis makes the AQUA-K9 a highly capable solution for professionals who need flexibility, accuracy, and confidence before breaking ground.
